Easy to Make Polymer Clay Pendants Using Jewelry Blanks and Perfect Pearls

I have added this quick and easy project to the how to use polymer clay push molds tutorial page :)

Once you have pressed your clay into your mold for an impression, take a blank pendant tray and press it gently down onto your clay to create an outline. Cut out using an x-acto knife/razor blade.

Gently place the clay into your pendant, making sure it fits well. This is a good time to apply a finish such as perfect pearls, a metallic pigment powder that sticks to the raw clay.

Then bake the clay while it sits in your metal pendant. Once it has cooled down, remove the clay from the pendant tray.

Seal with your choice of sealer (Polycrylic clear gloss is my favorite, found in a spray can at most hardware stores near the wood sealers and stains.) Glue it back in place with a strong adhesive rated for plastic to metal adhesion (I use E-6000.)

Winter Snow Pine Tree Rubber Stamped Christmas Card with Masking and Sponging Ink Coloring Technique

Here is a Christmas card I made using a rubber stamp from the Tree-125 sheet. This rubber stamp has details in the artwork that I wanted to hide (the ground.) I have cut a piece of paper to work as a "mask" (like a stencil) to cover that area. I cut that paper mask to be randomly jagged so it mimics piles of uneven snow over bumpy terrain. I cut the opposite edge of the paper in scallop shapes to mimic clouds.

First I put the paper I was stamping on down, then the paper mask over the area I wanted to look like snow on the ground, then rubber stamped over it using Memento Black. I made sure that the ground part of the image stamped onto my mask, so when I moved the paper mask all that was left was my rubber stamped image missing the ground area of the artwork. I used a sponge dauber and Memento "London Fog" gray ink pad and gently applied ink in an upward motion over my paper mask. I moved the paper mask to a different spot and repeated the ink application with the sponge.

I prepared background paper for this card using the same paper masking method above and also using a snowflake paper punch as a mask.

I used a Gelly Roll white gel pen to trace along the tops of the trees and make dots all over the image.

Updated Domino Tutorial + How To Use Water Based Markers on Dominoes

Rubber stamping on dominoes tutorial page has gotten a major update!

I've cleaned things up, reorganized by coloring media and ease of project. There is a brand new tutorial in it covering the usage of water based markers (such as Marvy LePlume II or Tombow) on domino pendants.

The chalk coloring tutorial section has also gotten an update using both stick form soft pastels, and the palettes of chalks common in rubber stamping.

In Crafting News- No More KrystalKraft Acrylic Shapes

I received word today that "Sunday International", a rubber stamping and craft supplies company that I have purchased from for many years, has been purchased by / merged with the "Crafters Companion" company. Unfortunately this means a lot of their products I have grown to love are being discontinued.

The biggest change that this brings to The Enchanted Gallery is that the KrystalKraft Clear Acrylic Shapes page will be going away soon. I am selling the last remaining stock I have of these shapes before shutting that section down.
